- This is a great Adirondack
birch bark sconce, has a primitive tin reflector on the interior,
wire bail handle for hanging or carrying and a tin cap with small
punched holes.
- Plank board top and
bottom with two leather straps on backside, could have been slid
on to some type of stand for exterior lighting.
- Most definitely one
of a kind.
- Probably was used
with a small kerosene lantern as a candle flame would burn the
birch bark, dating from the 19th century.
- Measures: 20"
to top of handle, 10" wide, 8" deep.
