New England Clock Face

Folk Art Tray

This folk art painted tray has as subject matter of three Frontiersmen.

One is carrying a long rifle with belt pouch wearing a hat with feathers and early garb, carrying game (rabbit) to the cooking fire.

One is wearing a coonskin hat tending the fire, and the third is wearing an animal fur (bear skin) for warmth.

Painted on the border of the tray are crescent moons, a bull, a goat, a crab, a scorpion, and star fish.

There is some paint loss just to the right of the camp fire and it does have some minor scrapes and other areas of paint loss.

There is no shine to the paint and shows all the proper age that you like to see in early paint.

This tray is just a fabulous piece of early American Folk Art.

Measures: 23 ¼"x 16 ¼"
