This is a top to a 19th century hat box, with early wall paper showing the Erie Canal (also called the Grand Canal). Really nice scene showing the life on the canal. Wall paper mounted on wood with wall hanger hook on back. Just a nice piece of early American history. Measures: 19"x 16"   (additional photo below)
