the ships as "white messengers of peace".
- The official color
of these battleships was slate and white.
- This painting has
been in a private collection for a number of years and found
on the backside of painting was a paper cut out story on Teddy
Roosevelt's 15 Messengers of Peace.
- The story tells the
history behind this fleet along with battleship names, the fleet
commander and also shows photo of the fleet steaming into San
Francisco Bay , May 6. 1908.
- The painting is signed
what appears to be as Potts(?)
- Painting has been
cleaned and reframed.
